Finally watched Desperado last night. I think it's a little worrying that my imagination is evidentially so overactive at the moment that I was quite capable of imagining Sands in the place of Carolina for the whole film. Yes it helps that they both have dark hair, and I probably find Johnny much prettier than Salma anyway. But troubling none the less.
... It also would have been a better movie that way, methinks. However, it rocked, of course. You just had to cheer and woot at all the outrageous stunts and whatnot. And smiley, pre-absolute-ansgt El? <3
You know, in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, the only time he ever really shows any interest in anything is when he's talking to Sands. Even on the phone, he makes a (somewhat half hearted) joke and puts on the cute placating voice, and dude, he totally never beat the crap out of Sands like he did to Carolina. It's love, I tell ye. In Desperado he just obviously hadn't realised he was in fact teh gay yet. Also he hadn't met Sands.
... That is, in essence, Emma's high recommendation of Desperado and, more eagerly, Once upon a Time in Mexico. And, seeing as how I have absolutely nothing to do until tonight and probably won't be back until late tomorrow, I feel that it is time for a grande viejo Mexico pic spam. Warning, lots of psychotic pretty lies beneath.
( Okay yes, when I say that, I mainly mean Sands. Spoilers and some blood and stuff... beware... I'm pretty sure it's all in the trailer anyway... )
